Linda Gilroy opens East End Community Resource Centre

Linda Gilroy MP joined Jean Nelder, Councillor for Sutton and Mount Gould, in opening a new community centre on Friday, 14 December 2007.

Funded with support from Plymouth City Council, Signpost Housing Association and the Single Regeneration Budget, the multi-million pound East End Community Resource Centre includes meeting rooms, kitchen facilities and state-of-the-art IT equipment. It will provide the local community with a range of services, from educational courses to social activities.

The centre was developed as part of the East End Renewal Programme and will eventually be joined by a business centre and a health surgery. In recent times the area has also seen the development of affordable housing, local businesses and a school.
