Bus passengers in Plymouth will find out about a new way to deal with Christmas debt and other problems when 735,000 special bus tickets promoting the Community Legal Advice helpline are
distributed by Plymouth CityBus.
Community Legal Advice - 0845 345 4345 - is a free and confidential legal helpline that can help people on low incomes in Plymouth with problems like housing, debt, education, welfare benefits, tax
credits and employment issues over the Christmas period.
Louise Edgar from the South West Legal Services Commission and Linda Gilroy MP will wave off one of the first buses with the new tickets at the Plymouth CityBus Depot at 11:30 am on Thursday
December 20th.
Louise Edgar explained "The bus tickets will be dispensed on all CityBuses from the Mile House Depot. The tickets promote Community Legal Advice, a telephone helpline and website providing free
legal advice and information to people on low incomes. These bus tickets are perfect for telling people about our service, as you can take away our contact details when you get off the bus".
Linda Gilroy added "Community Legal Advice can help with a range of problems commonly faced by people at this expensive time of year. You can ring from the comfort of your own home and speak to an
adviser confidentially. We know that there are vulnerable people in Plymouth who need help with their problems. I urge anyone with these worries to ring 0845 345 4345. The sooner you ring the
helpline the sooner we can stop a problem becoming a crisis".
Community Legal Advice is a free telephone advice service for people on low incomes paid for by legal aid. Call 0845 345 4345 (9.00 am - 6.30pm, Monday to Friday) or visit www.communitylegaladvice.org.uk
