Tea with Sarah Brown at Downing Street

Alison Casey, Cllr Nicky Wildy  (Devonport), Nikki Hawkings and Sandra Clark went to 10 Downing Street for tea with Sarah Brown. It was a chance to talk about Plymouth and to hear a bit about life in Downing Street.

Sandra said “It was a wonderful experience that I never expected to have  - and a chance to tell Sarah how well Devonport is doing with the New Deal money”

Alison added “I really enjoyed it and it was a great opportunity to see where the Prime Minister lives and works.  She was interested in the work we are doing in Efford with parents and children – and the Oasis project where I currently work.”

Nikki (Hawkings) said “It was a fabulous opportunity to promote our community of Morice Town and the city too.  It made our politicians seem a bit more real. Sarah Brown was simply lovely".

Councillor Nicky Wildy said “Sarah was especially warm and welcoming and recognised the outstanding contribution these women make to our communities. We asked her to come to Plymouth and bring Gordon and the family so we can show them the amazing changes taking place in Devonport and Plymouth.”
