Linda Gilroy has been chair of the T&G Parliamentary Labour Group since 30 October 2007.
The branch has approximately 90 members, including Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
The Transport and General Workers Union (T&G) was formed in 1922. In 2007, its members voted to amalgamate with Amicus to form ‘Unite -The Union’.
With some 1.9 million members, Unite is now the largest trade union in Britain and Ireland.
